Basic Oncology, Cancer Genetics, and Cancer Molecular Biology R&D Science Board

The TKE Basic Oncology, Cancer Genetics, and Cancer Molecular Biology R&D Science Board consists of a total of 11 individuals, including the Head of the Institute and 10 members. Board members are selected for a two-year term by the President upon the proposal of the Head of the Institute, from among individuals who hold at least a doctoral degree in the field of cancer, are distinguished by their works, research, inventions, or studies, and have successfully established and/or managed scientific and technological systems, institutions, and units. A member whose term expires may be re-elected through the same procedure.

Duties of the Science Board:

• To provide scientific support to the Türkiye Cancer Genome Project.
• To contribute to the national and international scientific activities of the Türkiye Cancer Institute in the fields of basic oncology, cancer genetics, and cancer molecular biology.
• To determine the subject headings related to the Institute Unit in project support calls to be issued by TÜSEB.
• To make advisory decisions on matters falling under the jurisdiction of the relevant unit within the institute.
• To make suggestions to the Presidency by planning scientific activities such as meetings, training sessions, seminars, courses, symposia, and similar events related to basic oncology, cancer genetics, and cancer molecular biology.
• To provide scientific support for activities aimed at the publication of books, journals, and reports needed in relation to basic oncology, cancer genetics, and cancer molecular biology.
