Tumour Immunology, Cancer Vaccine, Cellular Therapies in Cancer Treatment, and Transplantation Unit

It is the unit responsible for researching tumour immunology, conducting R&D studies utilizing cancer-related scientific knowledge, and transforming these studies into products; developing cellular diagnostic and therapeutic methods, which have an increasingly growing role among cancer treatment methods, and making a positive contribution to patient treatment processes and the national economy; conducting R&D studies for new cancer treatment options through transplantation methods using stem cell and similar technologies and transforming them into products; and conducting R&D studies on cancer vaccines to transform them into domestic products.

Duties of the Unit:

• To monitor national and international scientific research in the fields of tumour immunology, cancer vaccines, cellular therapies in cancer treatment, and transplantation.
• To prepare and publish periodicals within the scope of the institute's activities.
• To organize activities such as congresses, symposia, and training sessions at the national and international levels on subjects falling within the institute's field of duty.
• To conduct relations within the scope of the unit's field of duty with Project Management and Support Department within TÜSEB.
• To determine the subject headings related to the unit in project support calls to be made by TÜSEB.
• To plan macro projects financed by the Institute in the fields of tumour immunology, cancer vaccines, cellular therapies in cancer treatment, and transplantation, and to implement them in coordination with the relevant units.
• To implement the advisory decisions made by the Science Boards within the institute on matters falling under the unit's jurisdiction, provided such decisions are deemed appropriate and referred to the unit by the Head of the Institute.
• To work in coordination with other institutes within TÜSEB and the units of the Cancer Institute.
• To create, store, and keep up-to-date the necessary records and documents related to its field of duty.
• To plan and participate in activities such as training sessions, seminars, and courses related to its field of duty, and to conduct project management and collaboration activities.
• To carry out activities for the publication of guides, books, and similar materials needed in relation to its field of duty.
• To fulfil other duties assigned by the Head of the Institute.
