Clinical Oncology and Clinical Trials Science Board

Türkiye Cancer Institute Clinical Oncology and Clinical Trials Science Board consists of a total of 11 individuals, including Head of Institute and 10 members. The Board members are selected for a two-year term by the President upon the proposal of the Head of the Institute, from among individuals who hold at least a doctoral degree in the field of cancer, are distinguished by their works, research, inventions, or studies, and have successfully established and/or managed scientific and technological systems, institutions, and units. A member whose term expires may be re-elected through the same procedure.

Duties of the Science Board:

• Depending on the agenda items, domestic and foreign experts in their respective fields may be invited to Science Board meetings by the chairman of the board to consult their opinions, provided that they do not vote, and these individuals may be commissioned to prepare reports.
• To provide opinions and suggestions regarding the requirements for the preparation of national cancer programs and policies.
• To make advisory decisions for the creation and standardization of national cancer treatment guidelines.
• To make recommendations regarding the establishment of infrastructure, scientific support, and coordination mechanisms for clinical trials.
• To make recommendations for determining the relevant subject headings in project support calls to be issued by TÜSEB.
• To make suggestions to the Presidency by planning scientific activities such as meetings, training sessions, seminars, courses, symposia, and similar events related to clinical oncology and clinical trials.
• To provide scientific support for activities aimed at the publication of books, journals, and reports needed in relation to clinical oncology and clinical trials.
