Cancer Epidemiology and Preventive Oncology Unit

Duties of the Unit:

• To prepare and develop national cancer epidemiology and preventive oncology programs.
• To ensure cooperation with international organizations and carry out joint studies.
• To contribute to the establishment of organizations and programs in other countries and to develop collaborations.
• To make the necessary plans for the promotion and implementation of institute programs domestically.
• To participate in international congresses, meetings, seminars, and similar activities related to the institute's operations.
• To monitor programs organized in other countries regarding epidemiology and preventive oncology, and to take part in consortia.
• To implement the advisory decisions made by the Science Boards within the institute on matters falling under the unit's jurisdiction, provided such decisions are deemed appropriate and referred to the unit by the Head of the Institute.
• To conduct relations within the scope of the unit's field of duty with Project Management and Support Department within TÜSEB.
• To determine the subject headings related to the Institute Unit in project support calls to be made by TÜSEB.
• To work in coordination with other institutes within TÜSEB and the units of the Cancer Institute.
• To create, store, and keep up-to-date the necessary records and documents related to its field of duty.
• To plan activities such as training sessions, seminars, courses, brochures, and booklets related to its field of duty.
• To carry out activities for the publication of guides, books, and similar materials needed in relation to its field of duty.
• To fulfil other duties assigned by the Head of the Institute.
