Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies-ECHOS

In the field of cancer, healthcare services face challenges such as a lack of interaction among key stakeholders during the process from R&D to product. These challenges are acknowledged in the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission implementation plan and Europe's Beating Cancer Plan. The ECHoS project is anticipated to provide a unique opportunity to coordinate cancer-related R&D and healthcare actions in alignment with the Cancer Mission objectives, alongside international communication and collaboration networks and policymaking processes. The implementation of the Cancer Mission objectives will foster more resilient and human-centred health and research systems.

ECHoS will produce:

• General models and guidelines for the establishment of sustainable National Cancer Mission Hubs,
• A knowledge exchange program to support the development of competencies of the National Cancer Mission Hubs,
• Impact models and training toolkits to help engage effectively with diverse stakeholders,
• A set of synergies to assist the National Cancer Mission Hubs in collaborating with individual European Initiatives,
• A business continuity model envisioning the long-term sustainability of the European Union National Cancer Mission Hubs network,
• An event calendar to raise awareness about the National Cancer Mission Hubs and help bridge the gap in citizen participation in cancer policy.

In summary, ECHoS will create the conditions for National Cancer Mission Hubs to act as advocates for the cancer mission in member states and associated countries, and in a second phase, it will accelerate the development of an international network of National Cancer Mission Hubs.

Supported by the European Commission, the 'Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies - ECHoS' project aims to establish national cancer mission hubs within the scope of the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission, with the participation of more than 57 organizations from 26 countries, including Türkiye Cancer Institute.
