Multi-Omic Analyses in Breast Cancer Patients in Turkey

Breast cancer is a malignancy that arises from the uncontrolled proliferation of cells in breast tissue and is the most common cancer among women worldwide. When diagnosed at an early stage, treatment success is high; however, the disease is heterogeneous and varies across molecular subtypes.

Within the scope of the National Genome and Bioinformatics Project, the aim is to better understand the biological and molecular features of breast cancer in Türkiye through multi-omic analyses of different biological materials from diagnosed patients (peripheral blood, tumor tissue, normal tissue, serum and plasma). To support early detection and contribute to personalized treatment approaches, multi-omic data—including whole-genome/whole-exome, transcriptomic, lipidomic, metabolomic, and epigenomic profiles—will be evaluated together with clinical data.
