ECHoS-3. Work Package: Multi-Stakeholder Identification, Engagement and Collaboration Workshop Meeting

The EU-funded ECHoS-Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies Project "Work Package 3: Multi-Stakeholder Identification, Engagement and Collaboration", the "Brace yourself for impact" workshop was held on April 23-24, 2024 in Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Gülhan IŞIK ERTOP, R&D Specialist at the Türkiye Cancer Institute, and Dr. Serkan YAMAN, Researcher at the Turkiye Biotechnology Institute, attended the workshop and the "Precision Medicine Forum" held prior to the workshop, where topics such as precision medicine applications, new treatment methods in cancer and rare diseases and patient rights were discussed.

The "Brace yourself for impact" workshop was organized as a joint event between ECHoS (Establishing Cancer mission Hubs: Network and Synergies) and two ECHoS ambassador projects PCM4EU (Personalised Cancer Medicine for all EU citizens) and PRIME-ROSE (Precision Cancer Medicine Repurposing System Using Pragmatic Clinical Trials), where an 'impact model prototype' was presented to help cancer communities develop their own frameworks and models to monitor the impact of their activities. Participants presented their ideas in the context of the EU cancer mission objectives of cancer prevention, quality of life and survival. Using the 'impact model prototype', the workshop discussed the short and long term outcomes of activities with the available resources and how these will impact on the economy, health system, patients' rights, science, etc.
