EuonQoL Project Online Meeting

The researcher meeting of the "EuonQoL- Quality of Life in Oncology: measuring what matters for cancer patients and survivors in Europe" project, which aims to evaluate the quality of life of cancer patients within the scope of the Horizon Europe Program Cancer Mission, in which 42 different centers in Europe participate and Turkey Cancer Institute is one of the partners, was held online on March 04, 2024 under the leadership of the project coordinator Italy.  Prof. Dr. Mahmut GÜMÜŞ and Dr. Demet AKDENİZ ÖDEMİŞ, researchers of the Turkish Cancer Institute, participated in the meeting with more than 60 participants. 

In the meeting, the general outlines of the digital system called "EUonQoL-Kit", which is designed to collect feedback assessments and evaluate the quality of life in cancer patients receiving active treatment, cancer survivors and patients in palliative care in line with the relevant work package objectives, were explained. In addition, the objectives, design, study protocol and patient recruitment criteria of the study were explained in detail at the meeting. Who should be the Local Research coordinators, their job responsibilities and the details of standard operating procedures were explained. Checklists were presented on what to do before, during and after the survey. At the end of the meeting, all partner country researchers were invited to the 46th OECI Oncology Days, which will take place in Finland on June 12-14, 2024, where the EuonQoL introduction session will be held.
