EUonQoL Project Online Meeting
The Researcher Meeting for Data Collectors within the scope of the 7th work package of the "EUonQoL- Quality of Life in Oncology: measuring what matters for cancer patients and survivors in Europe" project, which aims to evaluate the quality of life of cancer patients within the scope of the Horizon Europe Program Cancer Mission, in which 45 different centers in Europe participate and Türkiye Cancer Institute is one of the partners, was held online with more than 100 participants under the leadership of the project coordinator Italy on April 10, 2024 at 16:00 (TSI). On behalf of Cancer Institute of Türkiye, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demet AKDENİZ ÖDEMİŞ and Dr. Gülhan IŞIK ERTOP participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the general outlines of the digital system called "EUonQoL-Kit", which is designed to collect feedback assessments and evaluate the quality of life in cancer patients receiving active treatment, cancer survivors and patients in palliative care in line with the relevant work package objectives, were explained. In addition, the objectives, design, study protocol and patient recruitment criteria of the study were explained in detail at the meeting. The duties and responsibilities of Local Survey coordinators and data collectors and the details of standard operating procedures were explained. Checklists and procedures to be followed before, during and after the survey were presented. Detailed information was given about the dos and don'ts of communicating with patients during patient reception and questionnaire collection. It was stated that the next information meeting for data collectors will be held on 07.05.2024. At the end of the meeting, all partner country researchers were invited to the 46th OECI Oncology Days, which will take place in Finland on June 12-14, 2024, where the EUonQoL introduction session will be held.
