Organisation Of European Cancer Institutes (OECI) And Türkiye Cancer Institute Online Meeting
An online meeting was held with OECI (Organization of European Cancer Institutes), of which TUSEB- Türkiye Cancer Institute is a member, to discuss possible collaboration opportunities. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Claudio Lombardo, director of the organization, Prof. Dr. Philip Thierry, member of the board of directors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu YÜCEL, acting director on behalf of TÜSEB- Türkiye Cancer Institute, and Prof. Dr. Uygar Halis TAZEBAY, one of the researchers. At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Philip Thierry gave information about the accreditation and determination of business plans and planned cancer centers among OECI member countries. He also called for joint work and cooperation opportunities with our institute. Our institute president Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu YÜCEL and Prof. Dr. Uygar Halis TAZEBAY started their speeches by thanking them for their support to the OECI acceptance process. They then gave information about the mission, vision and goals of the Presidency of Türkiye Institutes of Health and the Türkiye Cancer Institute.
They were also informed about the processes of the cancer research center to be established within TÜSEB in Türkiye. At the end of the meeting, the meeting was concluded by conveying their request for participation in the 46th Oncology Days to be held in Helsinki, Finland on June 12-14, 2024 in order to make our institute more widely known and by inviting TÜSEB Türkiye Cancer Institute to the OECI-world network conference to be held in Milan in September with the participation of 11 OECI member countries.
